Is Narcissistic Personality Disorder curable?
Narcissistic Personality Disorder is not curable, but treatable. Though there are no medications specifically used for its treatment. However, antidepressants or anti-anxiety drugs may be helpful if one has a condition like depression, anxiety and other health challenges that requires medications.
How Can It Be Treated?
Narcissism Personality Disorder can be treated through psychotherapy or talk therapy. Psychotherapy is a way to help people with a broad variety of mental illnesses and emotional challenges. It can help eliminate or control disconcerting symptoms so that one can function better, which will invariably increase healing and total well-being. This therapy can also help someone with this challenge grow to accept responsibility for his or her actions and learn how to develop realistic goals.
Talk therapy (also known as psychotherapy) can be an important part of treatment for depression, bipolar disorder or other mood disorders. A good therapist can help the victim to cope with feelings and change behavior patterns that may contribute to your symptoms. There are no medications specifically used to treat it. However, medications can be given only if the victim has symptoms of depression or other conditions.
Though Narcissistic Personality Disorder was coined by man and not God but the character traits or symptoms associated with them are commonly seen in people around us. Some of us are rarely identified with part of these character traits. Some struggle daily to overcome them while some doesn’t bother, leading people to hell, destroying souls and destinies. Yet we are not MAD but need help. You need to know what the Scripture says concerning the characters attributed to Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
